IRIS-HEP

Institute advancing software and computing R&D for the HL-LHC era of high energy physics.

IRIS-HEP advances the software and computing R&D needed for the data scale of the upgraded Large Hadron Collider experiments.

My contribution is on data access and the telemetry around it: XRootD monitoring, the analytics pipelines that turn raw transfer records into something operators can act on, and the data federation that puts LHC datasets within reach of an analysis job.

At HL-LHC data rates, the question stops being whether a transfer succeeds and becomes whether anyone can tell why it was slow. Most of this work is measurement.

I serve on the IRIS-HEP executive board.
